[Food Trip] BU Tapas, Bebidas y Bodega - Davao City

I am a frequent customer at this chill place. I always go here with my best buddies for a bucket of cold beer.

This Spanish inspired bar is not only famous for its classy yet sophisticated ambiance, they are famous for great tapas!

And the tapas that we are discussing is not the fried beef, it a Spanish term for snacks. This is a Spanish restaurant/winery/bar. If the name of the bar is translated in English it is called "BU Snacks, Drinks and Wine shop."

All Meat Pizza

Tapas bar is kinda new restaurant concept in Davao City. But I could say that BU nail one here! And they grab a bunch of frequent customers.



How's the food?

What I love about their menu are their pizzas! They serve great tasting pizza in an oval shape and placed on an elegant chopping board.

Three Cheese Pizza

All meat pizza is topped with spanish chorizo, ham, olives and onions. There is something that balanced sweetness and saltiness with these pizzas.The thin crust is not that thin as a potato chip. It was just perfect balance between it's toppings and crust. I could not really determine the taste what makes this pizza unique among other pizza restaurants in town. It is unique! I suggest  to grab one of these bad boys and taste it for yourselves.

Croquettes

I also tried their croquettes! These rolled goodies are great finger food. They stuffed meaty goodness of ham, cheese and etc. to these breadcrumbs and deep fried into crisp golden brown color. It actually taste good! The flavor of the stuffing inside does compliment the overall component of a croquette. The starch is not overwhelming. They paired it with white sauce infused with herb that is perfect for dipping.

They also serve some pork, chicken and beef dishes that is perfect combination with your beer or wine.



Food price ranges is from 100-500php.

Overall verdict?

Complementary Bread Sticks with Tomato Chutney

The ambiance of the place, wide selections of snacks, the great tasting pizzas, sometimes they serve complimentary bread sticks with tomato chutney and classy interiors. What else I could ask for? No wonder I am a loyal customer since they started their business. It is not just a Spanish tapas bar. It's BU!

I'll give them 4/5 overall rating!
