"Re-experiencing" Penang

"Re-experiencing" was the word that described my recent trip to Penang, Malaysia. The place was very close to my heart. I am fond with its culture, people and food. I returned to Penang, Malaysia last April to experience again the food and sights.

 

Last time, I took the bus going there. This time, I bought a very affordable plane ticket. From KLIA2, the one hour ride to Penang International Airport was short but the view from the window pane is amazing.

Their airport was nice and very easy to navigate. From the airport, I checked-in at Hotel Sentral Seaview that offers a comfortable stay with a nice view of the sea.

Food was the highlight of my trip here in Penang Island. I grabbed some bite of the delicious hawker food found in Penang. It a good thing that there is a nearby hawker food from my hotel. Viva Hawker Food, a walk from Hotel Sentral Seaview, offers a wide variety of relatively cheap hawker food that a Malaysia can offer.

My friend also introduced me to one of Penang's favorite food - White Curry Mee. We visited the Hot Bowl White Curry Mee Restaurant to experience its taste. The noodle is topped with clams, tofu puffs, cuttlefish and prawns. The white curry broth makes this food undeniably tasty because it is made with coconut milk. You have an option to add the spicy sauce according to your preference. The taste was so amazing!

After we ate the curry mee, we finished off with an ice cold Cendol for dessert after eating the tasty spicy noodles.

Of course, I revisit one of my favorite place in Penang Island - Straits Quay. This yacht club-themed mall is very relaxing and romantic at the same time. The yachts on the shore makes this mall unique from other malls I visited. The mall is also a best place to view the sunset.

My Penang experience won't be completed if I haven't visited their landmark. The temple Kek Lok Si was one of the temple we visited. It is an old temple but its beauty still stands tall.

As I walk by the Street Armenian in Georgetown, Penang, I couldn't believed that I return to this place. I had a lot of beautiful memories created in this place. A livable place where the culture touches its people. I can't wait to return back again to Penang. Jumpa Lagi~!
